Isabelle McGarahan Counsellor

IMPORTANT !

I am in the process of retiring and will not be taking on any new clients.
I wish you all well and hope you find someone else to work with you.

Counselling is a safe and confidential space where you can use the time to talk about concerns, changes or unresolved issues that are affecting your life.

You may feel that you are stuck in a situation and cannot see a clear way through. Talking to a trained counsellor allows you to be listened to without judgement within a framework of respect and acceptance.

The benefits of counselling can include:

  • Increased confidence and self esteem
  • Ability to cope better in difficult circumstances
  • Improved relationships
  • Clarification of confused thoughts & feelings
  • Assertiveness
  • Personal insight
  • Improved emotional health

Appointments

The first appointment is a free half-hour introductory session. This provides an opportunity to see whether counselling would be a helpful way forward for you.

It is an opportunity to explore what you want to achieve, to ask any questions and to see if we would be comfortable working together.

Subsequent sessions are an hour in length and cost £35 (concessions available).

Counselling can be short term or long-term depending on the client and their needs. We usually agree to six sessions initially and then we can regularly review whether we feel there is further work to do together.
